hi, i'm brenton.

onward!

i’m supposed to be moving out pretty soon. i have no idea where i’m going, but i’ll cross that bridge when i have my car working again. just for the record, i do not approve of old people buying cordless phones that they’ll never be able to operate. it causes us both way more hassle than i care to deal with. this entry is just an obligatory update with no real content.

i get so many openings and walk in the other direction, it’s not even funny.  i haven’t updated in a while mostly because i don’t have much to update about. life is boring, i’m moving out of my mom’s place ASAP, even if i have to drive without a license, because i really can’t stand her. she’s mildly retarded. oh well, i guess that’s pretty much it in the “news” department.

recently, i watched across the universe. i absolutely loved it. the music is amazing, and i’ve been listening to the soundtrack
daily since first watching it. i’ll link you to my favorite songs from it, when i upload them.

oh oh oh oh oh! i forgot to mention my new piercing. i finally got my cheek done!

apparently, i’m a horrible driver

because i failed the practical exam(the part where you actually drive). i would blame two things. the first: my mother’s car handles oddly, and i wasn’t very familier with it. the other would be the lady doing the exam seemed to think that i didn’t yield the right of way to someone, but i personally think he was far enough away that i had the right of way. whatevez, her judgement is what counts, so i am still without a license. haha.  that was the monday after the past entry.

this wednesday, there was a blood drive at work, so i went to give. now let me get this out there, first. i don’t like needles. at all. but, i think donating blood is a good thing to do, so i did it anyway. normally, when i get shots, i tend to feel a little nauseous. most of the time, though, it passes after a few minutes. this time, it was a little different. i was fine throughout the whole process, and when the nurse removed the needle, she asked me how i felt, and i told her i was a little nauseous, but it wasn’t something to be worried about because needles do that to me. nevertheless, she handed me a little container for throwing up into. i’d guess within 2 minutes, i was violently vomiting, and couldn’t stop. that continued for several minutes. then i thought i was ok! but i went back to work, and after about an hour or two, i was hanging over the toilet puking again. it wasn’t nice, but if it happens every time i give blood, i’d still do it. a little discomfort in exchange for doing a good thing isn’t going to dissuade me.

i was going to get my cheek pierced this friday. the place where i’m getting it done specially ordered the tools/jewelry for it, and they got it in thursday. unfortunately, i never got around to getting up there friday, or today. i’ll try and get it done next friday. i don’t want it to be really swollen at work, so i want a few days(the weekend) to recover. ok, i think that’s it for now. goodbye!

i went to the DMV today

passed the written exam, i’ll have to take monday morning off work, so i can take the practical part. i should practice parallel parking, as i’ve never attempted it before. since it’s been a while since i’ve updated, here’s what is new in my life: i’m working at uniden, still, but i’ve moved to the customer service department, with a significant pay raise, and a much better opportunity for advancement. the car i bought in like december is finally in my possession, which is good. it runs well, it just needs a tune up and a new tire or two. i’m bored and don’t really have much to say, so this entry is over. :]

as a lot of you may know, i think ron paul should be our next president. i’m so convinced of this that i caught a flight up to new hampshire last thursday, to help spread the word about dr. paul with operation live free or die. i stayed in 2 different houses, both rented for lodging supporters. i have pictures, i’m just too lazy to upload them right now. overall, the trip was great. i got to meet a lot of other revolutionaries, and a good bit of the paul family. i met trevor lyman and vijay boyapati, trevor being the man behind the first moneybomb and the ron paul blimp, vijay being the former google employee who quit his job and started operation live free or die. while up there, we came up with a really awesome idea to help the campaign, and i’m working on that at the moment, along with a few other guys. that is actually a bit more important than this, so i’m going to end this blog for now and touch base with them.

what a wreck!

today, at lunch, i was going to subway with maria(one of my co-workers) and her niece, nancy. we were almost to the door, when maria said “wait! i don’t have my car, my husband dropped me off this morning!”. after this unexpected (but quickly recalled from earlier in the day) revelation, she decided that she’d ask our friend carmen to borrow her car. carmen obliged, and we went to subway. after we had ordered, we went back to the car and started pulling out, and i look to the right, and i see a guy in a car also pulling out(after we’re already in the middle of the street) and i keep looking, waiting to see the break light, but it never comes. seconds before impact, i say “oh god, he’s going to hit us”. he slams into the car at a good 10-15mph and lifts the car on two wheels for a few seconds, then realizes his stupid mistake. no one was hurt, and we were in a hurry, so maria didn’t call the police, she just got his insurance information, and gave him carmen’s. it was, needless to say, not a very pleasant experience, but no one was hurt, and the car isn’t too seriously damaged, just a rather large dent and a lot of scratched paint. also, a rather humorous note to the story: before we left for subway, carmen offered to share her lunch with us, but we declined to go to subway. hahaha.

i’ve been meaning to blog about this for a while, but i keep forgetting, then not having time, but alas, i am going to do it now! i am absolutely in love with vanessa carlton’s new album heroes and thieves. my favorite tracks are hands on me, my best, and more than this. but all of the tracks are great. :) if you’re a fan of female vocals, or piano-driven pop, this album is a must buy. :) speaking of piano-driven pop, i’ve also recently stumbled across an artist most people who listen to the radio/watch mtv will already know about. sara bareilles. if you haven’t heard of her, check out this youtube link(it will open in a new window), and tell me what you think!

i think i’m done blogging for now! :) goodbye my friends.

i have been neglecting my blog

a few things have happened since i last updated, none of them very important, other than the birth of my niece! my sister had her 2 weeks and 3 days ago. she’s a beautiful little girl. :)

my niece. :)

her name is cassidy. it’s spelled with a k, and a weird combination of letters after, but i dislike irregular spellings of normal names, so i’m not even going to attempt spelling it properly.

why the long face?

i have a hernia, i’m quite sure of it. march 30th of this year, i was having pain right below my waistline, and it was bad enough that i had to go to the emergency room. i went at about 10pm, and i didn’t get out until 5 in the morning. i was a priority patient, because hernia’s can be life threatening in some cases(well, not the hernia, but the complications it can cause). i went through a pelvic ultrasound(which is the most awkward medical procedure in the world, i’m sure) after waiting in a room with an IV for about 3 hours, i’d guess. then after that, they sent me to a different place to wait for a doctor who would go over the results of the ultrasound and junk. and right across the hall(there were no walls, just curtains) there was a guy on a stretcher, handcuffed to it. D; the doctor said he couldn’t see anything really obvious, but when he checked manually(no jokes please :() he said i had two small inguinal hernias. for everyone who’s been reading through this entry and saying “what is a hernia??!?!?!” check this out. well, basically, after that ER visit, i was told to come back to the hospital in 2 weeks, for a follow-up (we were under the impression that i was suppose to have surgery
that day, but we found out that morning they just wanted to check it out again, then they would schedule whatever was necessary.)

on that follow-up visit, the doctor checking me out told me he couldn’t feel any hernia, at all. so he called in the would-be surgeon and he said the same thing. so i was sent home with another date to go get a CT(cat) scan. the only hitch with that was that i was uninsured and they wouldn’t do it without insurance or cash upfront(which i definitely didn’t have). so i was stuck in limbo for about a month or two, then i enrolled in medicaid, and saw another doctor(not at that hospital, because i didn’t want to go back because of how horrible the service was.) who was very patronising and annoying. he also told me i didn’t have a hernia, but i was still having the pain, or else i wouldn’t have gone to see him. so i told him that, and he told me that if it hurt again to call and schedule another appointment. the next day, it was bothering me again, so i called and setup another appointment. on that visit, he said he still didn’t think anything was wrong. so i insisted that he order a CT scan, because if it wasn’t a hernia, there was still something wrong that was causing me a lot of pain. so he sent me to another doctor. this doctor specialized in hernias or something, i guess. he told me there was nothing, and to come back for a follow up a month or so later.

i didn’t go to that follow up because i turned 19 and thus wasn’t covered by medicaid anymore. i basically stopped worrying about it then, because it didn’t bother me. i hadn’t noticed the pain in months, until friday, when i was getting into the shower and was almost floored by the pain. so i called in to work to let the on-site supervisor know i wasn’t going to be able to come in. he was really good about it. now my problem lies in that i need medical insurance(which i can get through work) but, i don’t know if working is a good idea right now, because if it is a hernia(which i do believe it is) then working(which consists of lifting a lot of heavy stuff) is bound to be very not good for me.

this is the end of this entry because i need to fill out the paperwork to get insurance through my job, then probably go to sleep. thanks for reading, and feel free to comment, even if you don’t know me. :)

i went to the movies yesterday and saw American Gangster and We Own the Night. both were really good, and i didn’t even mind the fact that i’d just spent $17 and 5 hours at the theater. haha. i love sleeping in, the weekends are amazing. i should take up a work from home job, but i don’t really know if there are such things that aren’t scams. haha. goodbye for now. :]
